TOTAL-ly Amazing New Wine Store & More in Mountain View!

0

The who’s who of Mountain View shared a sip at the Silicon Valley’s newest wine store and I was one of them! There are very few events that would get me to hire a babysitter and drive to the South Bay, at 5pm on a “school night”, but this an epic wine event that could not be missed!

On April 12th, I was invited to attend Total Wine & More’s Preview Party for their new store opening in Mountain View. From the Valet parking, to the free flowing Caymus, and Moët & Chandon, I was blown away by the nation’s largest independent wine, beer, and alcohol retailer.

Edward Cooper, Total Wine & More’s Vice President for Public Affairs & Community Relations

“Our selection is so vast that we’re able to offer something to every customer, and cater to specific needs regardless of taste, experience, or preference. We’ve proven that we can satisfy our customers, from the beer enthusiast who is interested in learning more about local brews, to the more experienced wine connoisseur seeking new vintages to try.”

With more than 8,000 wines from every wine growing region in the world, 3,000 spirits and 2,500 beers, including hard-to-find micro-brews, local craft brews and imports, this is TOTAL-ly MORE than a wine store.

The Total Wine & More store is literally like no other beverage store I have ever visited. Prior to the preview party, I was familiar with Total Wine & More because they are always one of the top bidders at Premiere Napa Valley and the Sonoma County Barrel Auction.

I finally got a chance to put a place to the paddle and to see where all those top bidding auction lots end up.  If pricey and hard to find wines aren’t your thing, there’s a huge selection of value vinos on hand, with an entire section dedicated to wines under $3, $4, and $5 dollars!

Something, I learned from attending the preview party is Moët & Chandon is now producing a special Champagne to be served on the rocks. Moët Ice Impérial, the first and only champagne especially created to be enjoyed over ice.

I prefer my Champagne straight up, but I could see this being a really fun pool side sipping situation.

Mountain View Total Wine & More Store Highlights

  • Tasting Bar with new wines being poured every weekend.
  • The Brewery District with the largest selection of beers under one roof.

The Mountain View store has “tech-equipped education center” where customers can attend interactive classes and events, according to the company. Total Wine & More stores host weekly tastings as well as paid classes on wine, beer, alcohol and other events. People will also be able to reserve the “education center” for free as a space for community, business or social events.

Besides the large selection of booze, what really impressed me (and the Mayor of Mountain View), is Total Wine & More’s commitment to giving back to the community. Over the past four years, the company said it has donated more than $17 million to local organizations. I was happy to hear, during the opening weekend for the Mountain View store, the company will donate 10 percent of all wine sales to the Computer History Museum in Mountain View.

Ken Rosenberg, Mayor of Mountain View

“What’s important to me and what’s important to Mountain View is the way that businesses interact with the community.

And, to hear from the get go that you are going to be donating proceeds to one of the jewels of Mountain View, the Mountain View Computer History Museum is special and important already. So, a big hand and a round of applause for the grand opening and we all have a new place to shop!”

The store officially opened on Thursday, April 13 and is located at 1010 North Rengstorff Ave, Mountain View, CA 94043.
