Q & A with WINERAM Productions Colin West about His Hometown

Q: In the Woodinville Wine Country episode, you talk about how this region is unique for wine, coffee, and seafood. What are some of the most unique experiences in this area you have had?

A: The most unique is with seafood.  I grew up in this area and my brother and I used to cast our lines off into the water in front of our house and catch large silvers that were running at the time.  Now when I visit we can go crabbing, shrimping or catch anything we want.

Q: I know that you grew up in the Olympia/Seattle area. What do you miss most about it?

A: I think the natural beauty of the region.  There is something UNIQUE about Washington.  I even moved to Lake Tahoe because I love the trees, the mountains, the water, et cetera, yet even Tahoe’s outdoors are different from Washington.  I miss it!

Q: What is your favorite wine from Woodinville and why?

A: It’s hard to pick a favorite.  I would love get into some proper syrahs from Walla Walla. But hey, the beauty of Woodinville is that it is the gateway to wines from EVERY REGION in Washington.  So many interesting wines from all around the state are there, I can’t pick just one from Woodinville.  I would pick all the regional heroes they showcase there.
